Troubled by hot flashes? Women’s Health researchers at the University of Arizona are testing a natural plant-based approach to alleviate menopausal hot flashes!
The HF Relief study is a phase 2 clinical trial testing the effectiveness of a natural formulation, PhytoSERM, to alleviate menopausal hot flashes. This study is being conducted by the University of Arizona Center for Innovation in Brain Science and funded by the National Institute of Aging.
Is the HF Relief study for you?
All selected participants will receive compensation for their time and travel.
All participants will receive PhytoSERM for at least 3 months.
Volunteers must be willing to participate in a 7-8 month trial that will include 8 trips to the University of Arizona.
Participants must be age 45-60.
About PhytoSERM
PhytoSERM is a natural formulation composed of 3 phytoestrogens, which already occur in most diets or are created by the bacteria in many women’s digestive system.
These plant-derived phytoestrogens are contained in some foods.
The PhytoSERM formulation has been designed by Dr. Roberta Diaz Brinton, the Director of the Center for Innovation in Brain Sciences at the University of Arizona to promote brain health, and alleviate common menopausal symptoms while not affecting breast tissue.
About the Trial
The HF-Relief study is being conducted by the University of Arizona and sponsored by NeuTherapeutics, LLC with funding support from the National Institute on Aging at the National Institutes of Health.
Participants are randomly assigned to receive the PhytoSERM pill or a placebo pill for the first 3 months; then, all participants receive the PhytoSERM pill for the last 3 months.
